 Solar Energy For Homeowners

Sidney Memorial Public Library

Join us at the library to learn about Solar Energy for Homeowners.  Award-winning solar designer and world-renowned solar thermal trainer, Todd Paternoster, will be on hand to share his knowledge of current solar systems and installation techniques.  If you are thinking of updating to solar, or if you would like some information on the subject, be sure to stop in for this informative presentation which id free and open to the public.

 

Book it to the Beach

Sidney Memorial Public Library

2:00-3:00pm

Join us in the Smart Community Room for some family fun.  Put on your flip-flops, grab your sunglasses, and bring the whole family for Book It To The Beach.  We’ll have stories, crafts, and sand play.  Beat the winter doldrums with some beach play at the Sidney Library.  Don’t forget to bring a towel to sit on!

 All you can eat pancakes and 1 serving of sausage or bacon, eggs and drink.  $6 for adults and $3 for children 5-12, under 5 is free.  Hosted by the Sidney Center Ladies Auxillary.

Music for Munchkins

Sidney Memorial Public Library

11:00-11:45am

 Preschoolers will have fun moving to music and learning about simple musical instruments at Music for Munchkins in our Smart Community Room.  They’ll have fun and meet new friends.  Sometimes we even play with a parachute!

 

Substance Abuse Prevention Ed Night

5:15-8:15pm

Sidney High School

 Sidney High School and the Tri-Town Coalition on Substance Abuse Prevention (COSAP) invite Sidney, Bainbridge and Unadilla community leaders, business people, parents, students, and school staff to a free cafeteria dinner served at 5:15 PM.  The educational presentations start at 6 PM in the auditorium.

Nicole Rookey, Teen Institute Program Coordinator, Prevention Network for Central NY and Sidney Students Against Destructive Decisions (SSADD) TI Team will lead students (grades 6-12+) in peer-focused discussions around healthy lifestyle choices and goal setting plus there is a separate K-5 program.    Mary Rosenthal, Executive Director of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council Delaware County (ADAC) presents a panel of professionals to help educate and recognize changes in behavior with addiction, gain knowledge about the effects of drugs on the brain, etc.   Police Chief, Jan Gorshack, will inform us on how we may identify drugs and its paraphernalia during the “adults only session”.
